What is Second Life?

Second Life is a three-dimensional virtual community created entirely by its citizens. Citizens assume an identity and take up residence in Second Life, creating a customised avatar to represent themselves.

You can own land and build your dream home, run a business or a club. Create something artistic. You’re only limited by your own imagination. Sell your own creations and earn linden dollars which can be exchanged for real dollars.

Premium accounts receive L$300 stipend per week and you may own 512 square metres of land without extra fees. You may purchase more land, subject to a monthly tier.

A basic account is free, but there is no stipend. You may still own or rent land on a private estate. Fees would be payable to the estate owner.
